Psychotherapy & Counselling SessionsThe first step in arranging a counselling, psychotherapy or creative arts therapy session is to pick up the phone and call your preferred practitioner, who will discuss your needs with you and arrange an initial session. You may also email if you prefer. Please refer to the contact page for phone numbers and contact details. Your initial session provides an opportunity for both you and your therapist to get to know each other and to decide if you wish to work together on an ongoing basis. They will explore some of what you hope to get from therapy and explain to you what you can expect from them. This first session will normally last 40 to 50 minutes. If you and your therapist do decide to work together, they will arrange subsequent sessions with you at a mutually convenient time. These are generally on a weekly basis, as a minimum. Ongoing sessions are of 50 minute duration. Contracting All clients are provided with an agreement which sets out what you can expect from your therapist and what they expect of you. This forms the basis for your ongoing therapy. Please click here for an example of our client agreement for individuals and here for our agreement for couples. Fees An initial consultation with Mark or Sam costs £25 (£35 for couples). Ongoing fees are dependant on circumstances and range from £40 - £50 for individuals, per therapy hour. For ongoing counselling or psychotherapy, it is expected that a client attends 40 sessions per year. This allows for periodic breaks and holidays. Where 40 sessions are attended during one calendar year, both Mark and Sam offer 42 sessions for the price of 40. The fee for ongoing couple therapy is £55 per session. We offer some concessions for individuals on low-income and for students. Fees covered by private health insurance are charged at a separate rate - please enquire. |
